At last I have worked out how to add pages for the events, and so now I can say thank you to all the people that made this night a success.
Thanks to the local papers for giving us the publicity we needed, to all the people who turned out to support the event, great audience, and to the musicians that turned up to play.
Most of all thanks to Alan and Penny for letting us stage the event in the first place.

Peter and Sharon (left) took the stage first, never an easy thing to do, but they made a great job of warming up the crowd. They started with a Magna Carta song, Airport Song, I have played it many times and it was nice to hear someone else's version.
Next on stage Heather and Elaine, the ladies from the boat Bernulf in Barnoldswick marina. Heather's clear voice, Elaine's solid rhythm and a generous serving of Lancashire humour gave us a most enjoyable set. Towards the end they were joined by Sarah May ... a very nice combination.

I first heard of 'Frank the Harp' from a friend and I assumed he must be a 'Mouth Harp' player, so I was very surprised when he turned up with the real thing.
He played a lovely set and it was so nice to hear someone play such a 'difficult to carry' instrument. I sometimes complain about carrying a guitar around - but a harp has got to be 10 times worse.
Sadly there isn't a good shot of Frank but this one shows him hiding behind his instrument in fine style.
After Frank's set we took a little break to give everyone a chance to have a chat and get another round of drinks in. I spoke to quite a lot of people and was pleased that they were all impressed with what they had seen and heard so far.
When I first announced what I was up to on Facebook, my friend Elrieke from Holland got in touch to say that she and Leopold were going to come over for the gig. That was great news for me as I've been a fan since we first met - singing around a camp fire at a private party in Holland. Elrieke sings as if her life depends on it and 'Poldy' plays a mean guitar so I didn't want to ask anyone to follow them on stage.
They didn't disappoint me, they played a great set and everyone was amazed by their performance.
I hope it was worth the trip.

It was getting late and everyone had had a great night's entertainment so I just did a few solo songs and then asked Pete, (known as Raunchie Pierre to those 'in the know') to join me on stage for a couple of songs. Pete is left-handed and plays his guitar upside down - very confusing for anyone watching!
We had practised a couple of songs beforehand and, despite his bruised fingers, Pete did a great job of the solos he played, including one that he didn't expect to be playing but had to because I couldn't find my recorder in time!

We ended the night with a jam session which was a whole lot of fun.
Heather, Elaine and Sarah May got back up - then Alan (our host) joined us on bass for one song - he also took a solo and gave a very good account of himself.

The audience loved it all but the highlight of the whole evening came when 'Poldy' and Peter (of Peter and Sharon) got up again and started to play The Boxer..... Penny, our hostess, could resist no longer. She came flying out from behind the bar, grabbed the microphone and sang for all she was worth. What a performance .... and what a great way to end a great night.
I believe that an open mic is now a regular occurrence, so check out their web site www.rainhalldrinks.com
